2021 – Carol Kittell

December 24, 2020

It’s almost here! After all the challenges of 2020, I am looking forward to starting over, moving forward, and taking on 2021. We can all pray that 2021 arrives with more blessings than challenges.

As we reach the end of December, there are a few things to be aware of. First, any parish contributions you want credited to 2020 must be in the parish office no later than December 30 since the office will be closed on December 31. Anything contributions that come in after December 30 will be credited to 2021.

This year, you are able to claim charitable contributions on taxes of $300 for single or $300 for married, filing joint. If you are married & filing separately, you can each claim $300.

Last year we did not mail out parish contribution statements to all parishioners due to the cost and time involved to do that. We asked you to call and request a contribution statement if you wanted one. That worked out really well and we will be doing that again this year. You can request a contribution statement by calling the parish office (496-2160) or by emailing [email protected]; [email protected]; or [email protected]. We will prepare a statement and then mail or email it to you or you can stop in and pick it up.

I want to thank everyone for their continued support of the parishes. It has not been an easy year but we have come together to pull through. Financially, we are entering the time of year when cash flow gets a little tight because of increased utility costs and the inevitable snowplowing bills. Please continue to make church support a priority as you prepare your 2021 household spending budget.

Jennifer Poehlmann, who has been our Liturgical Coordinator and a music minister for the past seven years, has resigned from her positions with the Quad-Parishes effective December 13. We are grateful for all the hours and effort she has given us and ask God’s blessings on her and her family as she moves into a new phase in her life’s journey. Pat Dennison, who had held the Liturgical Coordinator position for our parishes at one time, will be coming back the second week of January to help us out until we find a permanent replacement for Jennifer. Pat is semi-retiring from her position as a hospital chaplain. Welcome back, Pat! Good-bye 2020; Welcome 2021! Happy New Year Blessings to EVERYONE!
